The first place we are recommending to all of you is the experience of a lifetime that is Toledo Metro park. This area has been famous for being the home to giant red pine trees that have been planted over sixty years ago. However, it isn’t just trees that make this drive amazing. You’ll be able to enjoy great trails and activities that everyone in your family will love. We highly recommend stopping by a quaint coffee shop called Maddie & Bella Coffee Roasters, especially if you want to end up taking a detour to explore downtown Toledo. No matter where you turn, there’s something to enjoy!
Lake Erie Bluffs:
One of the most beautiful sights that you will ever experience is a sunset over Lake Erie. That is exactly the sort of thing that this road trip will offer you. This area has easy access to a beach, and even a 50-foot observation tower. This doesn’t even mention the Eagle View Loop Trail, or the Shoreline Trail. We also want you to be aware of the fact that this is the right drive for all of you wine aficionados. There are multiple wineries in the area, including South River Winery and Laurentia Winery.
Nelson Kennedy Ledges State Park:
When it comes to a view that you will never forget, you have to appreciate the Nelson ledges. One of the most popular trails here is red trail, which brings you by cool formations in the park like Devil’s Icebox and Fat Man’s Peril. After you are done exploring everything that the park has to offer, drive into Garrettsville and stop by one of the most famous places to eat in the area, Two Travelers Tavern.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park:
Perhaps the most famous and beautiful park in the entire state is Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Whether you want to experience a sunset on an overlook, or you simply want to appreciate the changing leaves, you’ll be able to do it all. There is even a Cuyahoga Scenic Valley Railroad if you want to get out of your Jeep for a little while! Don’t forget to check out some of the local farms and markets for all of your seasonal produce.
