Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

When speaking about off-road capability, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon can't be left out of the conversation. While the Trail Rated badge is awarded to all trim levels of the Jeep Wrangler, the Rubicon stands out by enhancing the vehicle's renowned off-roading capabilities. Setting itself apart from the rest of the lineup is the Rock-Trac 4x4 system. While the other 4x4 systems of the Wrangler perform admirably in light and moderate off-roading situations, Rock-Trac is specifically engineered to conquer any terrain you encounter. The Rubicon leverages a two-speed transfer case with a low-range gear ratio of 4:1, providing exceptional control when maneuvering over rugged landscapes. This ratio means that for every four turns of the transmission output shaft, the transfer case output shaft turns once, resulting in increased torque to the wheels at low speeds. The Rubicon's locking differentials assist in traction control, allowing the driver to lock the rear wheels or all four wheels at the touch of a button. This feature ensures that the wheels rotate at the same speed, enabling the Wrangler to maintain momentum and navigate rough terrain in a controlled manner. Furthermore, the Wrangler Rubicon includes an exclusive electronically disconnecting front sway bar. The driver can disengage the stabilizer bar by simply pressing a button, allowing the wheels to compress and drop further. This enhances wheel articulation, keeping the wheels firmly planted on the ground and enabling the Wrangler to move in the desired direction. The standard features of the Wrangler Rubicon also include 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, a one-inch factory lift, red front and rear tow hooks, and FOX suspension parts.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe

The Wrangler 4xe was introduced in 2021 as Jeep's first-ever plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. Mating a 2.0L turbocharged I-4 engine to two electric motors and a rechargeable 400-volt lithium-ion battery pack, the Wrangler 4xe puts out 370 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. One thing that the 4xe system does exceptionally well for off-roading is providing low-end torque. In conjunction with the Rock-Trac system's low-range gear ratio, the electric power of the 4xe system provides instantaneous torque at low speeds, making it easier to keep the wheels moving over rugged terrain, and as any off-roader knows, steady momentum is everything on challenging terrain. In addition to the instant torque provided by the 4xe system, the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe provides all the standard features found on the traditional Rubicon model

Jeep Gladiator Rubicon and Mojave

Alongside its exclusive Rock-Trac transfer case, the Gladiator Rubicon boasts an impressive array of features that solidify its status as a legendary off-road vehicle, truly deserving of its name. One notable feature is the electronic disconnecting front sway bar, which empowers drivers to unlink the front stabilizer bar at the touch of a button. This allows the front wheels to compress and drop further, enabling smoother traversal over jagged terrain. Furthermore, the Rubicon trim incorporates Jeep's Tru-Lok locking differentials, which provide the ability to lock both the front and rear differentials, ensuring consistent momentum during rugged off-road adventures. Additionally, while driving at higher speeds in 4-HI mode, it is possible to lock the rear differential alone. The Rubicon also comes equipped with cab rock rails, off-road-tuned FOX shock absorbers, and 33-inch all-terrain tires, further enhancing its off-road capabilities. On the other hand, the Gladiator Mojave possesses equal capability to the Rubicon, but with a focus on conquering desert dunes rather than rock crawling. It boasts 2.5-inch FOX internal bypass shock absorbers with remote reservoirs, granting it an additional inch of height compared to the Rubicon. These shocks feature specially designed FOX hydraulic jounce bumpers, commonly known as bumpstops among off-roaders. Additionally, the Mojave transitions back to the Command-Trac 4x4 system. Notably, the Gladiator Mojave showcases a track width one inch wider than that of the Rubicon, enhancing stability during high-speed off-road adventures.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe

While the Grand Cherokee 4xe already exhibits impressive all-terrain capabilities, the Trailhawk trim elevates it to new heights with a range of exclusive equipment and features. One notable upgrade is the enhanced 4x4 system, known as Quadra-Trac II, which incorporates a two-speed transfer case. In 4-Low mode, this transfer case delivers increased torque to the wheels at low speeds, ensuring optimal control and steady momentum during off-roading endeavors. Another Trailhawk-exclusive feature is the electronic disconnecting front sway bar. By disconnecting the sway bar, the front wheels gain the freedom to drop and compress further, facilitating smoother navigation over significant trail obstacles. Additionally, the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe benefits from the Quadra-Lift air suspension system, which provides an impressive 11.3 inches of ground clearance at its highest setting. Further enhancing its off-road capabilities, the Trailhawk 4xe includes standard features such as an integrated front-facing off-road camera, high-strength steel skid plates, an anti-glare hood decal, Electric Blue tow hooks, all-terrain tires, and more.
