Tips for Shuttling Kids to Different Extracurricular Activities

Parenting can be tough, and days are very long for many parents with kids in different extracurricular activities. If parents aren't careful shuttling kids around can leave them drained and exhausted. Here are a few tips for shuttling kids to various extracurricular activities:

Schedule at least one free day.

As a parent, you need to have one day where you're not racing against the clock and can relax and have some "me time". This can be any day of the week that works best for your family, but a weekend is great since it eliminates having to take kids to school.

Keep snacks and water in your trunk.

It's not a bad idea to buy some snacks in bulk and keep them in your trunk for kids in-case they get hungry and ask for snacks after school. This will save you both money and time as you wouldn't pay higher rates for purchasing a snack in individual packets and you wouldn?t have to stop and shop.

Avoid activities that are during rush hour.

The last thing any parent wants to do is to sit in traffic for an hour to take a child to an extracurricular activity, instead choose time slots that aren't during rush hour, so your commute can be smooth. Also, avoid activities that are further away since kids may become tired or lose interest if they have to travel far to work.

Communicate clearly with other parents.

If you carpool or help other parents out, it's essential to communicate clearly with other parents and to leave the line of communication open. Creating a group chat is a great way to share supportive information, plan for carpools and school events without a struggle.

Make sure they're comfortable and safe.

Shuttling kids from one activity mean you must ensure that they're safe. Check the height and weight restrictions on car seats to make sure they're in the correct one for their stage.
