The 2022 Jeep Compass provides one powertrain that powers all five trim levels of the lineup. Under the hood of the Compass, you’ll find a 2.4-liter Tigershark 4-cylinder engine that delivers 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. This engine pairs with either a 6-speed automatic transmission on the rear-wheel drive models, or a 9-speed automatic transmission on the 4-wheel drive models. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, but 4-wheel drive is available on all trim levels featuring the Jeep Active Drive system. The Trailhawk is the exception to this rule, and instead utilizes the Active Drive Low system with a 20:1 crawl ratio. The Trailhawk also features a 30-degree approach angle, a 1-inch factory lift, a 19-inch water-fording capacity, and Selec-Terrain Traction Management with hill-descent control. Plus, a properly-equipped Compass can tow up to 2,000 pounds.

One of the most exciting new additions to the Jeep Compass lineup is the Uconnect 5 infotainment system, which has five-times faster processing speeds than previous generations. The Uconnect 5 comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, plus a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen with a larger 10.1-inch screen beginning with the Latitude LUX. Not only that, but there’s also an available thin-film transistor digital gauge cluster with a screen measuring up to 10.25 inches. Plus, the new Compass also offers advanced safety systems that protect everyone on board. These include newly standard features like adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward collision warning with active braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and active lane management, plus extra features like a 360-degree surround-view camera. 

The 2022 Jeep Compass’s updates are evident right from the get-go. When you take a look at its exterior, you’ll notice a sleek and refreshed front and rear fascia design, with sweeping character lines that emphasize its athletic frame. In the front, there are slim horizontal headlamp fixtures with LED lighting, and LED foglights are also available. You can also opt for features like heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and 8-way power-adjustable front seats with lumbar support. The Compass also offers a remote start system, and a keyless Enter N’ Go system to make entry and exit a breeze.
