Continue reading to see which one of these legendary pickups comes out on top!

2021 RAM 1500 Power & Handling

There are four massive engines available for the Ram 1500, and each of them provides you with a tremendous amount of power. Standard on most trims is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that kicks out an amazing 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque which comes with an eTorque system designed to improve the fuel economy and the engines stop-start capability. Several options are available for the Ram 1500, with the first being a 5.7-liter V8 that delivers 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The V8 is available with or without the eTorque. Looking for some diesel power? The Ram has you covered with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 diesel that comes with 260 horsepower and a spectacular 480 lb-ft of torque. There is also a new engine this year that's exclusive to the TRX trim, which is a turbocharged 6.2-liter V8 that kicks out a pavement blazing 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Each engine pairs with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel-drive. Four-wheel-drive is an option on all trims.

The Chevrolet Silverado comes with a few interesting engine options, and things start nicely with a 4.3-liter V6 engine that kicks out 285 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission. Optional is a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with an interesting 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque and gets an eight-speed automatic transmission. Another available option for the Silverado is a 5.3-liter V8 that rips out 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Like the Ram, the Silverado also has a diesel option, and it's a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel that comes with 277 horsepower and a stout 460 lb-ft of torque. We like a lot about these numbers, but they do pale compared to what the Ram 1500 offers.

2021 RAM 1500 Features & Design

With seven trim levels, you're sure to find something you like with the Ram 1500. The base trim is the Tradesman, which comes with 18-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, trailer sway damping, and a 5-inch touchscreen with a six-speaker stereo. The Big Horn adds to this with either an 8.4-inch or 12-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you want to venture far into the wilderness, you're going to want to go with the Rebel trim, which brings in hill descent control, four underbody skid plates, an electronic locking rear axle, upgraded shocks, and all-terrain tires. More luxury items are had with the higher-level trims, which add leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, side steps, reclining heated rear seats, four-corner air suspension, wireless charging pad, and premium leather bucket seats. The final trim is the new TRX, which rounds things out with performance-enhanced features such as a head-up display, reverse steering control, and RamBox cargo storage.

2021 Chevrolet Silverado Features & Design

Eight trims are available for the Silverado, and there are some fascinating features on each of them. Things get rolling with the base Work Truck trim, which has 17-inch steel wheels, a locking tailgate, vinyl seat upholstery, air conditioning, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Up next is the Custom, which adds an updated appearance and remote engine start, LED cargo bed lighting, power and heated mirrors, Wi-Fi capability, and power-locking with a power-releasing tailgate with assisted lift. The most off-road features are available with the Custom Trail Boss as it brings drivers four-wheel-drive, 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and an automatic locking rear differential. Higher-level trims round things out with more luxury items such as dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, wireless phone charger, an 8-inch touchscreen, and a Bose audio system.

Conclusion:

While there is a lot to like about both of these pickups, we think you should be driving home in a 2021 Ram 1500.
