2021 Jeep Compass vs Kia Sportage

The journey towards getting your next vehicle can be a little trickier than you might like, especially with the fact that there are so many options out there for you to choose from these days. While the selection is always important, it could be difficult to narrow it down to the one that you truly love. At Columbiana CDJR, we want to make sure that our customers are getting the support they need, and the vehicle that suits them. That’s why we’re taking a closer look at two of the top SUVs on the market today to help find out which one is right for you. The 2021 Jeep Compass is first, gaining additional driver aids, an available 80th Anniversary Edition, and all of the off-roading capabilities that you expect with a Jeep vehicle. We’re also looking at the 2021 Kia Sportage, which adds in a few packages for the 2021 model year, along with offering a high-quality cabin, and a smooth ride, though not it’s lacking in off-roading prowess. Keep reading to find out more!

2021 Jeep Compass Power & Handling

One of the biggest highlights of any Jeep is the power and capabilities that you will be able to take advantage of. We are happy to say that the 2021 Compass comes with one standard engine that is sure to impress you, especially with all of the available configurations. This engine is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder, which can produce around 175 pound-feet of torque and up to 180 horsepower. For people who choose front-wheel drive, a six-speed automatic transmission comes standard. Anyone who, instead, picks all-wheel drive, will be getting a nine-speed automatic transmission. You’ll also find engine stop/restart on every Compass, to help save on fuel.

2021 Kia Sportage Power & Handling

The Kia Sportage is severely lacking when it comes to the off-roading department. While this SUV comes with two available engines, it’s best to stick to the pavement here. The base engine is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder, producing 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. The other available engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, which offers 260 pound-feet of torque and 240 horsepower. Front- and all-wheel drive are available, with a six-speed automatic transmission as standard.

2021 Jeep Compass Features & Design

Beyond just being powerful, and capable of off-roading excellence, the Compass also comes with a great trim lineup. Some of the standard features here include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 16-inch steel wheels, heated side mirrors, a 7-inch touchscreen, roof rails, cloth upholstery, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Some of the available features that you’ll find include leather upholstery, rain-sensing wipers, satellite radio, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, all-terrain tires, rear parking sensors, heated front seats, and a self-dimming rearview mirror.

2021 Kia Sportage Features & Design

We’re going to take a closer look at the feature selection, to see if the Sportage can stack up to the Compass. Some standard features include lane-keeping assistance, LED daytime running lights, automatic high beams, air conditioning, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and forward-collision mitigation. Some available features include keyless entry and ignition, windshield wiper de-icer, fog lamps, roof rails, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Conclusion:

Between these two SUVs, we believe that it’s pretty easy to tell by now which one we believe is superior. The 2021 Jeep Compass is just an SUV that is able to do it all. Whether it’s off-roading fun, or just commuting to work, you’ll never be bored a single day that you step into this machine. We hope you’ll stop by our dealership and check out the models that we have on our lot!
