2020 Ram 1500 Limited

2020 RAM 1500 at Columbiana Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM

First off, the 2020 Ram 1500 Rebel is now available with the EcoDiesel option for the first time, and a proven eight-speed automatic transmission will come with that radically redesigned 3rd-gen engine. Way to get things moving, Ram! This engine is available in every model of the 2020 Ram 1500 pickup, and its towing capacities increase substantially, a fact not lost on diesel-fans everywhere! This truck is already a longstanding title-winner, and popular with workers, off-roaders, and the tech-savvy. It stands to reason that 2020's version will only continue in that great tradition!

How is the power on this engine?

Well, it has only expanded in both horsepower and torque since the last one, to the tune of 8-percent more horsepower and 14-percent more in key torque. It officially gets 260-hp at 3,600-RPM on this 3rd-generation 3.0-liter V-6 EcoDiesel for the 2020 Ram 1500 pickup truck! A best-in-class torque rating then comes in at 480 lb-ft of torque at 1,600-RPM. Ram officially released the pricing for the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price to start at $36,890 for the Tradesman Quad Cab 2WD, plus $1,695 destination. It says a lot when the Head of Ram Brand, Reid Bigland, makes statements like this one about the engine: "The new Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is America's most powerful half-ton diesel pickup, following up on Ram's HD torque leadership and achieving what no other manufacturer has, with up to 480 lb-ft of torque in a 3.0-L engine." A combo of many factors made this engine's power possible, including re-made intake ports, a dual high- and low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation system, dual overhead camshafts with 4 valves per cylinder (and a 60-degree angle within the cylinder banks), as well as a new-gen water-cooled turbocharger with variable geometry!

Can you get into towing-related information?

Absolutely! A class-exclusive air suspension magnifies fuel economy, enhances ride control, stimulates off-road capability, eases cargo-packing workloads, augments ease of entry/exit, and supports automatic load-leveling. Look into the Max Tow package for the EcoDiesel Quad Cab 2WD Tradesman or Big Horn/Lone Star, which combines a 3.92 rear axle with a more robust center region, a more solid rear suspension, tires intended for towing, and distinct 18" wheels. This makes a 12,560-lb tow rating for the 2020 EcoDiesel as well as a 12,750-lb tow rating for the V8 gas engine version.

Anything about warranties yet?

Ram backs this truck with a 5-year /100K-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty. The powertrain-limited warranty incorporates the cost of any parts & labor required to fix a covered powertrain component (transmission, engine, drive system). The standard 3-year/36K-mile Basic Limited Warranty affords bumper-to-bumper coverage for the Ram 1500 pickup truck, and that translates to coverage from the body to the electrical system. That's what Ram has so far, talk to Us about Our own warranty programs and offers when the EcoDiesel-sporting truck gets here, scheduled for sometime in the last quarter of 2019!
