Power and Handling of the Ram 1500 TRX

Brought to you by Columbiana Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM

Ram turned the truck world upside down with the introduction of its brand new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. The TRX is the world's most powerful, fastest, and quickest mass-produced truck in the world. To be that fast, the TRX had to be outfitted with a massive V8 engine that comes outfitted with a powerful supercharger. The TRX also received various new features to help with performance, such as exclusive Bilstein Black Hawk e2 shocks. To learn more about the supercharged engine in the TRX and the rest of the features that help propel the truck to the very top spot, you're going to want to keep reading down below.

What can you tell me about the engine powering the TRX?

When you pop the hood of the TRX, you're going to find a monstrous 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 engine. This engine sets new benchmarks for both power and performance in the half-ton pickup truck world with a horsepower rating of 702 and 650 lb-ft of torque. If you were to floor it from a dead stop in the Ram 1500 TRX, you'd reach 60 mph in 4.5-seconds and 100 mph in 10.5-seconds. With those types of numbers, there is no way you can't take the Ram 1500 TRX to the drag strip. The TRX has a quarter-mile time of 12.9 seconds, so you can expect to beat out several sports cars. The supercharged engine comes paired with a high-torque-capacity TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic transmission that delivers fast and seamless gearshifts.

What does the TRX have for performance features?

The TRX comes outfitted with front and rear 2.5-inch Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks that were designed exclusively for the TRX. These shocks provide unbeatable damping, a fast reaction time, and feature improved heat dissipation for travel at speeds over 100 mph. The standard five-link coil suspension system greatly benefits the handling and comfort of the TRX. The Ram 1500 TRX features a Dana 60 solid rear axle with a 3.55 ratio, full-floating hubs, and an axle-hop damper. The TRX rides on a set of 35-inch all-terrain tires and has a 2-inch ride height increase over the Ram 1500, which allows the TRX to have up to 32-inch of water fording and 11.8-inch of ground clearance.

What else does the TRX have for performance featurs?

The TRX comes with a bevy of drive modes that enhance the performance of the TRX. The eight drive modes for the TRX Sport, Snow, Custom, Mud/Sand, Rock, and Baja. The new Baja mode reduces shift times by 68%, allows for moderate oversteer, and sets its suspension on full damping for maximum fun on the dunes. The TRX also comes with performance and off-road pages. Within these pages, you'll find Launch Control, a dyno/engine, and vehicle dynamics.
