The Wrangler 4xe system is paired with a 2.0L I4 DOHC direct-injection Turbo PHEV engine to bring out the best in already proven Jeep® Brand 4x4 capability. A 16-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, regenerative brake booster and eight-speed automatic transmission work together to send impressive amounts of power and torque to each wheel, maximizing the capability of every component. CHARGING MADE SIMPLE
It’s easier than ever to get a charger into your home, like the simple-to-use Level II Jeep® Branded Charger. It can fully charge the Wrangler 4xe battery in approximately 2 hours versus 12 hours using the included Level I charging cable.
HYBRID TECHNOLOGY
ELECTRIC MODE
When the battery has more than a 1% charge, it can run in Electric Mode. This allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The vehicle can run in this mode for up to 21 miles.
REGENERATIVE BRAKING
This feature allows the battery to be charged when decelerating and braking. The Max Regeneration feature remaps the accelerator pedal to command more aggressive regen at low pedal positions. It allows you to slow the vehicle down without the brake pedal, but a complete stop always requires the brake pedal. It also stays selected until you turn it off.

Under the hood of the Wrangler 4xe, you'll find a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 engine. As we mentioned, the Wrangler 4xe is a plug-in hybrid. One hybrid motor is mounted on the cylinder head, and the other is mounted to the front of the transmission. A tough TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission drives all four wheels for seamless shifts and torque distribution. This setup kicks out an impressive 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of instant torque. It's worth pointing out that all 470 lb-ft of torque is instantly available, which makes for unbeatable control when crawling over tough terrain and will also make merging on the highway a breeze. The Wrangler 4xe gets 49 MPG with a 379-mile total driving range and a 21-mile fully-electric driving range. The E-Selec technology allows drivers to choose between hybrid, electric, and E-Save modes.
