Can you tell me about the new EcoDiesel engine?

Absolutely! The Jeep Wrangler will now be available with a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine that utilizes stop-start engine technology. Wranglers equipped with this engine are excepted to arrive for late availability. The EcoDiesel engine is rated to produce a whopping 442 lb-ft of torque and comes mated with a new eight-speed automatic transmission capable of handling all that increased torque. The standard engine for the Wrangler is the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that makes 260 lb-ft of torque and 285 horsepower. The Wrangler is also available with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine. Both of these engines are available with either ESS or mild-hybrid eTorque technology.

Can you tell me about capability?

One can’t discuss the Jeep Wrangler without talking about the unmatched and renowned 4x4 systems that come with this impressive off-roader. The standard system on the Sport and Sahara models is the Command-Trac part-time 4x4 system that uses a two-speed transfer case to deliver a 2.71:1 low-range gear ratio. The Sahara is available with a Selec-Trac full-time 4x4 system that also uses a two-speed transfer case. Finally, the Rubicon comes mated with a Rock-Track four-wheel-drive system that has a low-range gear ratio of 4.0:1. The Rubicon also utilizes an electric front and rear locking differentials, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and a disconnecting front sway bar. Each Wrangler has an approved angle of 44-degrees, a breakover angle of 27.8-degrees, and a departure angle of 37 degrees.

What do the special edition have for features?

The Wrangler's primary model lineup Sport, Sport S, Sahara, and Rubicon are joined this year by the Freedom, Black & Tan, and Willys special edition models. The Freedom pays homage to the U.S. Military by means of a military-themed exterior that showcases an “Oscar Mike” military star on the hood. The Black & Tan model features a tan cloth roof and Heritage Tan cloth seats that are accented by a Wizard Black instrument panel. The highly-capable Willys borrows the Rubicon’s rock rails and comes with 32-inch mud-terrain tires, heavy-duty brakes, and a limited-slip rear differential.
